Gabrielle McCormack, M. M.

Music Teacher

gmccormack@olmprep.com

Ms. Gabrielle McCormack comes to us after having several music teaching experiences around Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York. Music and Catholicism has always been a big component in her life. According to some, Ms. McCormack tried to sing along to the hymns at her church even before she could talk! She started taking piano lessons at the age six and has developed her musical skills ever since then. In high school, she would perform in band, chorus, and all the musical theater productions. Ms. McCormack holds a B. M. from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam having double majored in music education and operatic vocal performance. She graduated summa cum laude and was honored to perform SUNY Potsdam’s Alma Mater at her graduation ceremony. During her time at Crane she had many experiences performing leading roles in operas and performing abroad in Arona, Italy and Salzburg,  Austria. It was after her undergraduate experiences that she truly fell in love with teaching. While being a full time graduate voice student at the University of Hartford, she taught chorus and 40 voice/piano students a week. She graduated with her M. M. and would go on to teach in a couple school districts before calling OLM her home. Ms. McCormack is inspired by the real life Maria Von Trapp. She hopes to bring the joy of music into the lives of children, while instilling core values and beliefs of the Catholic Church. She is most excited to help foster children’s love of music and build up OLM’s music program.”
